About Vanessa
I have been working in yachting for more than 11 years, and I have always been connected to the water. I started my career as a crew member, living on board and traveling to different countries, sailing and cruising around the world for a few years. This hands-on experience gave me a real understanding of everything about the water and yachts from the inside and out. Now, as a yacht advisor, I help individuals buy luxury super yachts in Florida and work internationally in places like Miami, Monaco, and Dubai. I am part of the Ferretti Group, the biggest builder for luxury yachts globally, which has 7 different brands. One of my most notable professional achievements was closing my first yacht sale, when I was able to connect and find the right yacht for my first buyer. Throughout my career, I have been fortunate to have mentors like Patrick, one of the first yacht captains I worked with as a crew member, who has taught me extensively about yachts, how they are built, motors, engine rooms, and all the technical aspects. I now have the opportunity to mentor others who are interested in entering this industry.

01What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
First of all, you have to love what you are doing, and you need to understand that this is not only about the look or the lifestyle, it's about also connecting to the water and the experience on the water. You need to understand that people need to understand the lifestyle on the water, so you have to be aware of where to go and the experiences that you can do on board. Basically, you have to start traveling and understanding where the yachts go, what they do there, and what they can do, because it's not only about having a yacht, it's having the experience of where to go and what to do.
