Her work focuses on educating healthcare providers, assisted living communities, and families about hospice services while fostering strong referral partnerships that ensure seamless transitions and improved patient outcomes. Vanessa earned a Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Administration from Chaplain College, building on the clinical foundation she established after beginning her career as a Certified Nursing Assistant.

Throughout her career, Vanessa has been guided by a passion for serving others and improving the quality of life for patients facing serious illness. She combines clinical experience with expertise in healthcare communication, business development, and community outreach, helping bridge the gap between hospitals, physicians, home health providers, and hospice organizations. 01What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I’ve ever received is to never give up. There will always be challenges and setbacks, especially when goals or quotas aren’t met, but persistence is what makes the difference. I’ve learned to keep believing in myself, stay focused on my purpose, and continue moving forward.

02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering this industry is to follow your heart and pursue what truly inspires you. If you’re passionate about making a difference, don’t be afraid to take risks and go after your goals. Trust yourself, stay committed to your purpose, and never let fear keep you from making a positive impact.

03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges in my field is helping families come to terms with the need for hospice care. Many continue searching for additional treatments in hopes of extending a loved one’s life, making acceptance difficult. It can also be challenging when healthcare providers delay hospice referrals, which may prevent patients and families from receiving the comfort, support, and quality of care they need at the right time.

04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values that matter most to me are compassion, service, and family. In my work, I find the greatest fulfillment in helping others and making a positive difference, even if it’s simply bringing a smile to someone’s face. In my personal life, my priority is ensuring my family is happy, supported, and has everything they need, because their well-being is what motivates me every day.
