About Vanessa
Vanessa Krause serves as territory manager for Alro, a Michigan-based family-owned steel distributor, where she has worked for two and a half years, including 16 months on the steel side after starting on the plastic side. In this role, she manages accounts across northwest Indiana, primarily Lake and Porter counties as well as the Rensselaer-DeMott area, meeting with clients daily to streamline their business through processing capabilities and next-day delivery while acting as a liaison to ensure strong customer service. A graduate of Chesterton High School and the University of Michigan, where she competed as a student athlete in swimming and earned degrees in sports administration and entrepreneurship, Vanessa draws on her athletic background for time management and a competitive drive. She emphasizes open and honest communication to build deeper relationships with customers, many of whom are in the steel industry like her father, sister, and grandfather. Prior to Alro, she sold vehicle graphics at Signature Graphics in Porter, Indiana. Her approach is guided by values of accountability and going the extra mile, and she credits her manager Anthony Barnes as a key mentor.
