Vanessa NevesJackson is a producer, composer, and engineer based in Sacramento, California. She has been working in the music industry since 2010, accumulating 16 years of experience. Her career path includes roles in podcast editing, live sound engineering, and setting up stages for panels and concerts. In her day-to-day work, Vanessa stays connected with the artists she collaborates with, dedicates time daily to creating new music for her catalog or songwriters, and focuses on mixing and engineering several times a week. She is signed to The Records production company, where she produces music for artists such as Kehlani, City Girls, and Victoria Monet. Vanessa's proudest accomplishments include curating and leading an all-women music panel called Plugged In in Sacramento, securing two placements in the Paramount film Noah's Ark where she produced the title song and another scene song, and being brought on as a voting member of the Recording Academy San Francisco chapter. She serves as chapter leader of the nonprofit We Make Noise Sacramento chapter. Vanessa's professional goals include becoming a Grammy-nominated producer and scoring a full film from front to back. Her advice to young women entering the industry is to not get intimidated, remember that loving the work means you belong in the room, do not dim your light for anyone, and never give up.
