About Vanessa

Vanessa Wall serves as clinical lead and office manager at a private practice in the healthcare field, where she has worked for the past two years after spending eight years at Baptist. With a decade of experience that began through volunteering at age 15, she specializes in working with patients and staff, managing EMR systems, and handling patient intake processes. Vanessa earned her bachelor's degree in biology with a minor in health administration from Florida Atlantic University and holds an EKG technician certification. She is an active member of the National Black Women in Medicine and previously participated in the Black Women in Medicine club at her university. She attributes her strong work ethic and professional success to her parents and emphasizes the importance of continuous learning and remaining open-minded when working with diverse individuals.

01What do you attribute your success to?

I would say to my parents, for sure. They have a very strong work ethic, and I think they definitely instilled that in me.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

Honestly, the one that I said earlier that, like, to just You're always learning. Like, you can't be you can't always think that you know everything, because you're always learning something new every single day, no matter what.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Yeah, I would say To be very, very open-minded. And you kind of have to be very understanding of a lot of different people's situations. Because, at the end of the day, you're You have to take care of them, and you have to you're looking out for their best interest, regardless of You know, how they present. And I would say to just continue Putting in the work to, to further your career. Because It ends up being worth it, and to also just, like. keep learning every day you learn something new, so you just always have to be open to learning.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

I wanna say just working with all different types of people. ... I want to say just, like, being presented with, like, different cases of things. And having to, like, learn on the fly.
