Her Story
About Vera N.
I have been working in the financial field for 21 years since December, and I am currently in my third year specializing in data governance. My career began as a contact center specialist, where I worked for 9 months before moving to the back office to help with endorsement, verification, and loan cancellation. I then transitioned into personal finance management, where I stayed for approximately 7 years. From there, I moved into analytic management, managing the analytic team, before transitioning into a digital role where I started a data governance team. Today, data governance is my main area of expertise, and I continue to work with the data governance team. When asked about my most notable professional achievement, I would say it has been managing people. Beyond my professional work, I serve as vice president of the Aquaba Club in Ghana, where I help young people embrace Ghanaian culture and make culture cool again by embedding the practices and culture in them. I also run a tourism company on the side.

01What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I would say to have boundaries, to set boundaries from the get-go. Know that they can achieve anything that they put their head to. The sky is not the limit, because we do have astronauts, so they shouldn't limit themselves.
