About Vernise
Vernise Robinson is a corrections, workforce development, and public service professional with more than two decades of experience at the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction. She currently serves as a Workforce Development Administrator, where she connects incarcerated men and women with employment opportunities 90 days prior to release. Robinson began her career after earning a bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Toledo. She started in juvenile corrections for a year and a half before moving to adult facilities, where she has held roles in parole programs, victim advocacy, correctional programming, and institutional operations while aspiring to promote and advance. Her professional background is further supported by certification as a Certified Public Manager. She serves as Vice President for the National Returning Citizens Association, as a Board of Governors representative in Correctional Administration for the American Correctional Association, and as a member of the National Association of Blacks in Criminal Justice. Robinson is committed to assisting returning citizens with scholarships for education.
