Q

What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to both my personal resilience in navigating significant life challenges and the depth of experience I’ve gained working in family courts over many years.

Q

What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I’ve ever received is to be authentic—“be you.” Follow your own path, stay true to your values, and don’t let other people’s negativity or opinions derail your journey. It’s also a reminder not to take people for granted and to value the relationships and opportunities that come your way.

Q

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

I would advise young women entering this field to thoroughly educate themselves about family law and the resources available to them. Be cautious of paid services that simply replicate information that is publicly accessible, and only represent yourself if you have a solid understanding of the legal concepts involved, such as rebuttable presumptions. Most importantly, know your rights, take back your power as a parent, and approach the work with confidence and discernment.

Q

What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

The biggest challenges in my field right now include outdated family court statutes in certain states, false accusations, unauthorized practitioners or scams, and systemic gaps that negatively impact vulnerable parents and children. At the same time, there are significant opportunities to advance state-level reform and expand public legal education, empowering families with knowledge and resources to navigate the system more effectively.

Q

What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values most important to me in both my work and personal life are empowerment, fairness, and transparency. I am committed to providing people with the information they need to make informed decisions, advocating for equitable outcomes in the legal system, and protecting families from exploitation. Personally, I also cherish creativity and a connection to nature, which I nurture through my love of art, plants, and holistic well-being.
