Ten minutes with Veronica
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success first and foremost to my own hard work, dedication, and determination to grow throughout my career. I am also incredibly grateful to the coworkers, leaders, and especially my first manager who believed in my potential and gave me an opportunity to enter the industry when I had no prior experience. I started as a receptionist and, within just three months, was promoted into a recruiting role because they recognized my abilities and potential. Their trust and support gave me the confidence and foundation to continue developing professionally, and I am deeply thankful for everyone who has supported me along the way.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I’ve ever received is, “Don’t get comfortable.” I believe that if you want to continue growing professionally, you have to keep challenging yourself, learning, and pursuing new opportunities rather than becoming complacent. While financial success is important, I place even greater value on personal and professional growth. I always want to keep pushing myself, reaching higher, and recognizing that the sky is truly the limit when you remain committed to growth.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I would tell young women entering my industry to trust themselves, believe in their abilities, and never allow setbacks or discouraging moments to define their journey. This industry is constantly changing, and there will inevitably be times when the challenges and bad news seem to outweigh the positive experiences. During those moments, it is important to stay focused, remain resilient, and remember that difficult periods are temporary. Resilience is one of the most important qualities you can develop, because no matter what challenges the industry brings, perseverance and a positive mindset will help you move forward and ultimately find better opportunities.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The biggest opportunities in my field come from the ability to work across a variety of sectors, including manufacturing, office, professional, and sales environments. I see significant potential in building relationships with new clients and expanding direct-hire opportunities, which allows me to gain greater industry exposure while continuing to grow professionally. Most importantly, I view my role as an opportunity to make a meaningful difference by connecting candidates with positions where they can find long-term satisfaction, financial stability, and career longevity rather than constantly having to change jobs.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values that are most important to me in both my professional and personal life are honesty, authentic communication, respect, and empathy. I believe in being honest and transparent in every interaction, whether I am working with employees, clients, or customers, because authentic communication is essential to creating the best possible experience. I also believe in treating every person with respect and honoring their dignity, regardless of their role or circumstances. Above all, empathy is a guiding principle for me because you never truly know what someone else may be going through, and leading with understanding and compassion can make a meaningful difference.
