Her Story
About Veronica
I've been in the mortgage industry for over 30 years, and honestly, this career came to me when I needed it. What I do now is calculate income for individuals to purchase homes, and it keeps me very busy. When I first got into the field 30 plus years ago, I didn't have any experience, but when I learned the knowledge of the business, it just drew me in and I wanted to do nothing else but mortgage. You're helping people to get their dream home, and whatever we can do to help them, however we can make it work, we would do that. That's what inspired me to keep going and to learn other avenues in the mortgage business. I've also worked in management for Brahms and in home healthcare, where I took care of a double amputee and her granddaughter, which gave me so much joy. I even worked for USAA, which was basically retail but still a form of mortgage, and we strictly worked with military families to help them purchase homes where they were having trouble going through other companies. My main area of expertise is serving and helping others, and I attribute my success to the knowledge I have learned and the people who have poured their knowledge into me and guided me to be what I am now.

01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to the knowledge that I have learned and the people who have poured their knowledge into me and have guided me to be what I am now. I'm standing on the shoulders of those who paved the way for me to be where I am. The people who came before me and invested in my growth are the foundation of everything I've accomplished in my career.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I've ever received is that whatever I want to do in life, first pray about it, and make sure that if that's what God has placed in your life and the position that you're in, be the best at whatever it is that you are doing. Always be kind to other people. I really take that to heart. Even though the world is crazy now and you can be kind to people and they're not gonna be kind back to you no matter how kind you are, because it's just within them and that's just who they are, we have to accept that and still treat others as how you want to be treated.
