Veronica Jackson-Ratliff
Veronica Jackson-Ratliff is a seasoned communications and leadership development professional with over 30 years of experience in corporate strategy, executive coaching, and talent development. Currently serving as an Audit Advisor at FedEx Services, she combines her expertise in internal communications, project management, and leadership training to support a global team of approximately 150 colleagues. Veronica is an ACC-certified executive and professional coach, one of the few designated to a single department within FedEx, where she has created and launched an internal executive and leadership coaching program to cultivate authentic leaders and drive measurable professional growth.
Veronica began her career in communications at organizations such as International Paper, where she honed her skills in public speaking, media planning, and corporate storytelling. She transitioned into FedEx, where she progressively expanded her responsibilities from project management and internal communications to learning and development, leadership coaching, and internship mentorship. Over her career, she has launched programs such as the executive leadership video series “IAD Talks,” professional development seminars for young professionals, and coaching initiatives that have led to certifications, degrees, and career advancement for her coachees. Her commitment to lifelong learning and professional growth has earned her multiple recognitions, including the prestigious FedEx Five Star Award, induction into the FedEx IT Hall of Fame, and inclusion among Tri-State Defender’s 50 Women of Excellence.
Beyond her corporate work, Veronica is deeply committed to community engagement and professional development. She serves as Chair of the Doris S. Lewis Professional Development Committee, providing leadership resources for youth, and volunteers extensively with her church and local organizations supporting food security and professional empowerment. What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to the transformative power of communication—how it shapes organizational culture, develops leaders, and drives meaningful change. Over the course of more than 30 years in communications, leadership development, and executive coaching, I have been fortunate to build a career that integrates strategy with service and purpose with performance. My work is guided by a commitment to fostering growth, empowering leaders, and creating impact at every level of an organization.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering this industry is to lead with intention and never underestimate the power of clear, authentic communication. Your voice matters—especially in spaces where leadership decisions are being made. Speak up, ask questions, and share your perspective, even when it feels uncomfortable.
I also encourage investing in your growth continuously. Careers rarely follow a straight path, and some of the most meaningful opportunities arise when you embrace learning something new or stepping into an unfamiliar role. Seek out mentors, but also be willing to mentor others. True leadership is as much about developing people as it is about achieving results.
