Her Story

About Veronica

Veronica McNeary is a motivational speaker, author, and radio show host who has dedicated nearly two decades to empowering women through faith-based guidance and personal development. Over the past ten years, she has concentrated her efforts on bringing women together through conferences and her ministry, known as The Birthing Place, to help them cultivate healthy standards, boundaries, and a stronger sense of self-worth. Her on-air career includes three years hosting God's Reformed Woman, a program on which she engaged influential guests in candid conversations about the trials and breakthroughs that shaped their lives, and she continues to build her broadcasting presence through her work with Fluent Radio.

Beyond her speaking and broadcasting work, McNeary has established herself as a published author, having released three books through Amazon—The Significance of My Journey, Scarred But Not Broken, and Girl, She's Back—all of which have been featured for sale at the DuSable Museum of Afro-American History in Chicago. A fourth title, From Lemons to Lemonade, is currently in progress. She furthered her education with a bachelor's degree in Communication and Media Studies from Southwest Baptist University and an Associate of Arts in Business Administration and Management from the Professional Career Training Institute, building on an earlier business administration certificate she completed in 1994.

Grounded in faith and driven by a deep sense of dedication, McNeary approaches her work with the belief that a woman's present circumstances need not dictate her future. She has been recognized as a featured honoree among Influential Women representing Calumet City, Illinois for 2026, and remains in the process of securing a broader nomination with the National Radio Broadcasters. Whether through her writing, her ministry, or her broadcasts, McNeary's mission centers on helping women recognize their worth, take ownership of their growth, and move forward with renewed confidence and purpose.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Veronica

01What do you attribute your success to?

I credit my success to my spiritual foundation and my faith in the Lord, who has kept me grounded and prevented me from losing myself amid opposition. Faith has played a major role in my healing journey, and I often say that my success comes down to a combination of my relationship with Jesus and the support of a good therapist.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I ever received came from Governor Blagojevich here in Illinois. He told me never to stop moving forward, never to stop striving, because there are women out here who need someone like me.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering this field is, first, to be patient with themselves. Second, when they recognize their own shortcomings, they should address them privately rather than publicly, and focus on developing greater control over their emotions.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges in my field right now is effective communication—specifically, identifying the areas where women are struggling. I focus on encouraging and motivating them to understand that their current circumstances don't have to define their future.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The value I hold most dear, both professionally and personally, is my dedication and commitment. Once I begin something, I make it a priority to see it through to completion.
