Her Story
About Veronica
Veronica Norman is a seasoned healthcare strategy professional and strategic advisor with nearly two decades of experience helping leaders, teams, and organizations navigate complex decisions, enterprise transformation, and high-impact change. She currently serves as Senior Internal Consultant, Strategy Activation at Rady Children’s Health, building on more than a decade of experience with CHOC Children’s in clinical operations and information technology project management. Her career has centered on healthcare administration, strategic planning, project management, and organizational improvement, with a strong focus on helping organizations move from ideas to meaningful action.
In 2026, Veronica founded The Next Right Step, a strategic advisory practice designed to help individuals, leaders, and teams approach career, leadership, business, and personal decisions with greater clarity and confidence. Drawing from her professional experience and her own journey of navigating career transitions and significant life decisions, she uses thoughtful questions, strategic perspective, and objective analysis to help clients uncover blind spots and identify practical paths forward. Rather than telling people what decisions to make, Veronica believes effective advisory work is about creating the space for people to recognize their own answers and make informed, intentional choices.
Veronica holds a Master of Business Administration in Health/Health Care Administration/Management from the University of Phoenix and has earned professional credentials in project management and emerging technology. Her leadership philosophy is grounded in authenticity, honesty, self-trust, and continuous growth. She believes that clarity does not require certainty and that meaningful progress often begins with one well-considered decision. Through both her healthcare leadership career and The Next Right Step, Veronica is committed to helping people ask better questions, trust their judgment, and take the next step toward the future they want.
Her Interview
Ten minutes with Veronica
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to my parents, especially my entrepreneurial father, who taught me to work hard and pursue what I want. Becoming a single mother to two daughters strengthened my drive, as they became my “why” and motivation to keep moving forward.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I’ve received is “less why, more how.” Instead of focusing on why something can’t happen, I focus on what I want, where I want to go, and how I can get there. I believe a solution-focused mindset creates opportunities.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women is simple: use your voice. Speak respectfully, thoughtfully, and confidently, even in male-dominated environments. You can achieve your goals, but you may not be able to do everything at once. Know what matters most and be willing to make sacrifices when necessary.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
I see endless opportunities for those willing to invest in themselves, take risks, and close knowledge gaps. I’ve pursued opportunities before having every qualification and worked quickly to develop the skills I needed. My current challenge is deciding what comes next while balancing executive growth with my passion for working closely with frontline teams.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Authenticity and honesty are the values I prioritize most. I believe trust grows when people know they will receive the truth, even when conversations are difficult. I respect others enough to be honest with them and expect the same in return.
