Her Story

About Veronica

I'm currently in the last half of my college career at USC, working in the marketing field. What drives me most is creating opportunities for women to feel comfortable acknowledging their accomplishments and progress in their careers. I believe it's really hard for us as women to feel comfortable giving ourselves credit for what we've achieved. Through my work, I want to create platforms that make women feel more confident and comfortable in their professional careers, and build communities where we can all support each other in our goals and aspirations and motivate each other. I think each of us is worthy of celebrating our accomplishments, and we need to take the step away from the narrative that we have to undermine what we've done. Instead, we should celebrate them, because every one of us deserves to be proud of our contributions.

01What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

I would tell young women entering the industry to give themselves permission to acknowledge their accomplishments and the progress they're making in their careers. It's really hard for us as women to feel comfortable doing that, but we need to step away from the narrative that we have to undermine our accomplishments. Instead, we should celebrate them, because each of us is worthy of recognizing what we've achieved. I think it's important to build communities where we can all support each other in our goals and aspirations and motivate one another. A lot of women feel like they're not enough, or their contributions aren't enough, but from the outside looking in, other people are amazed by their accomplishments and dedication. So we need to give ourselves the credit we deserve and feel okay giving ourselves a pat on the back.
