Her Interview
Ten minutes with Veronica
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to God’s guidance and the purpose He has placed before me. I believe every opportunity, challenge, and relationship has been part of a greater plan, and that each member of my team was uniquely equipped to contribute to this work. I see myself as a steward of the gifts, responsibilities, and mission entrusted to me, and I am grateful for the opportunity to serve others through this journey.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I have ever received is simple: show up. I have been fortunate to have incredible mentors who have demonstrated the importance of being present and committed, no matter the circumstances. They taught me that success comes from continuing to move forward even when the path is challenging, uncertain, or when motivation is difficult to find. Showing up with consistency, dedication, and resilience has been one of the most valuable lessons I have carried throughout my career.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering my industry is to prioritize continuous learning and take the time to understand how the world and the industry around them operate. Seek knowledge, explore different opportunities, and invest in understanding what truly matters to you. Most importantly, define success based on your own goals and aspirations rather than the expectations of others. By staying curious, informed, and authentic to yourself, you can build a meaningful and fulfilling career.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges in my field right now is access to funding. Many individuals, organizations, and communities have the passion and potential to succeed but lack the financial resources needed to bring their ideas and opportunities to life. At the same time, there is a significant opportunity to create greater access to support, resources, and funding—whether for entrepreneurs building businesses, individuals pursuing their goals, or communities seeking opportunities through programs such as sports. Expanding accessibility is essential to empowering people and creating lasting impact.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values that are most important to me in both my work and personal life are empathy, respect, communication, and transparency. I believe in meeting people where they are, recognizing that everyone’s experiences and perspectives shape who they are. Building meaningful connections requires listening, understanding, and valuing the knowledge each person brings. I also believe in the importance of continuous learning and taking the time to understand how things work so that I can make informed decisions and contribute with purpose.
