Vicky Behne
Vicky (Reski) Behne is a Strategic Sales Leader and Strategic Account Manager with Marius Pharmaceuticals, a growing pharmaceutical company where she has worked remotely for approximately three years. In her current role, she partners with HRT clinics, teaching institutions, and a wide range of healthcare providers to educate them on hormone therapy for men, with a specific focus on testosterone and men’s health. Her daily responsibilities include presenting scientific and clinical data on hormone therapy, strengthening provider relationships, and supporting initiatives that advance patient care and outcomes in the field of endocrinology and hormone optimization.
Throughout her career in pharmaceutical sales, Vicky has built a strong reputation for consultative selling, managed care expertise, and territory leadership across multiple therapeutic areas including respiratory, cardiology, allergy, diabetes, and infectious disease. Beyond her clinical and commercial success, she has consistently aligned her professional work with meaningful community impact. She has collaborated with organizations such as the American Academy of Dermatology to help implement more than 35 shade structures across the United States for schools, senior centers, and community facilities—supporting public health initiatives that promote safe outdoor access and skin cancer prevention. In addition, she has worked extensively with school systems to educate nurses, teachers, and health aides on respiratory illnesses and steroid misuse, while also securing continuing medical education opportunities for school nurses that were otherwise not funded.
Vicky’s personal journey reflects extraordinary resilience and purpose-driven leadership. During the COVID-19 pandemic, she endured a severe and prolonged illness that required multiple hospitalizations over a six-month period, at one point being given a grave prognosis. Despite these challenges, she survived and ultimately defied expectations of long-term disability, later participating in clinical studies with leading teaching institutions focused on COVID-19 recovery and survivorship. Her experience in the healthcare system during this critical time further strengthened her commitment to improving patient care, sharing real-world insights, and helping healthcare organizations better prepare for future public health crises. Today, she continues to combine professional excellence with a deep commitment to community service, patient advocacy, and advancing healthcare education.

What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to perseverance and commitment. These two values have been the foundation of everything I've accomplished in my career. Staying committed to my goals and persevering through challenges, even when faced with seemingly impossible obstacles like my COVID survival, has been key to my achievements both professionally and personally.
What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I ever received was about staying committed and staying the course. This advice has guided me throughout my entire career in pharmaceutical sales and has helped me navigate challenges and maintain focus on my long-term goals. It's about not giving up when things get difficult and maintaining your commitment to your path even when obstacles arise.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering the pharmaceutical industry is to have not only long-term goals, but short-term goals as well. Set specific dates for achievement of those goals and monitor them closely. Having this structured approach to goal-setting with concrete timelines will help you stay on track and measure your progress. It's important to be intentional about what you want to accomplish and hold yourself accountable to those deadlines.
What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The biggest challenges and opportunities in my field right now are access to doctors. I strongly feel that providers and teaching institutions need to see pharmaceutical sales reps on a steady, consistent basis. The reason why is that they stay abreast of current developments in the industry. They are more aware of features, benefits, and side effects to medication. They are much more knowledgeable about what's happening in the industry. Lots of times doctors forget about things, like an antibiotic that's widely used can have side effects 6 months later to a patient in terms of the tendons in their feet and their legs, and you'll see lawsuits from time to time, and the doctor's like, oh, I forgot about that. Any good representative who goes in and talks to a doctor is legally required to give what's called fair balance, which means okay, these are the benefits, but these are also the side effects, and that gives the doctor better parameters to choose an appropriate therapy for the patient.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values that are most important to me in my work and personal life are having an ethical compass, perseverance, and commitment. Having an ethical compass guides all of my decisions and interactions, both professionally and personally. Combined with perseverance and commitment, these values have shaped how I approach my career, my community service, and my personal challenges. They've been especially important in helping me navigate difficult situations and maintain my integrity throughout my career in pharmaceutical sales.
