Her Interview
Ten minutes with Victoria
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to over 35 years of experience in the telecom and cable industry, where I’ve had the privilege of serving in a variety of leadership roles. Building strong relationships with both customers and employees has been at the heart of everything I do, and I’ve always prioritized fostering career growth and development within my teams. I credit much of my impact to maintaining long-standing industry partnerships and driving service excellence through mentorship, training, and a commitment to continuous improvement. These experiences have shaped not only my leadership style but also the meaningful results my teams and I achieve together.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
Never stop learning and always be a student of your craft.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I would advise young women entering the telecom industry to seek out mentors who inspire and challenge them. Early in my career, I was fortunate to learn from Andrea Custis and Brenda Finch, former senior executives at Verizon, whose guidance shaped my leadership style and core values. Their mentorship taught me the importance of integrity, resilience, and empowering those around you—lessons I carry with me every day.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges—and opportunities—in my field right now is raising awareness about period poverty globally. Ensuring access to safe menstrual products is not just a matter of health, but of dignity and equality. I’m passionate about using my platform and industry experience to advocate for solutions, support education, and empower communities to address this critical issue.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values that guide me in both my work and personal life are rooted in compassion, empowerment, and making a tangible impact. My period poverty campaign is the centerpiece of my humanitarian work and what drives me most deeply today.
Two years ago, I visited a school in South Africa and learned that many young girls miss school during their menstrual cycles simply because they lack access to basic supplies. That experience moved me profoundly, showing how something so fundamental could limit a girl’s education and future. In response, I launched a GoFundMe campaign to provide washable and reusable period panties to students in need. Since then, the initiative has reached over 1,500 girls, helping them stay in school with dignity and confidence.
Today, I continue raising awareness about the broader issue—over 500 million women and girls worldwide are affected by period poverty—and advocate for access, education, and sustainable solutions. Empowering others and creating opportunities for women and girls to thrive is at the heart of everything I do.
