Her Story

About Victoria

Victoria Catoir is the Senior Campaign Development Manager at Blood Cancer United, where she leads fundraising initiatives, corporate partnerships, sponsorship development, and volunteer engagement efforts across Long Island. Over the course of more than five years with the organization, she has advanced through several leadership roles, growing from Campaign Development Specialist to Campaign Development Manager and ultimately to her current position. She is particularly involved with the organization’s Light The Night campaign, working closely with executive committees, community leaders, and corporate partners to expand awareness and support for patients and families affected by blood cancers.

A graduate of Pace University, Catoir earned her bachelor's degree in Communication and Media Studies with a minor in Special Events Marketing. Her career in the nonprofit sector began through internships with organizations including Ronald McDonald House New York and North Shore Animal League America, experiences that helped shape her passion for mission-driven work. Inspired by the loss of a high school soccer teammate to cancer, she found purpose in advancing causes that provide hope, support, and resources to individuals facing serious illnesses.

Known for her relationship-building skills and commitment to community impact, Catoir has played a key role in driving fundraising success and strengthening engagement throughout the region. She helped lead the 2025 Light The Night campaign to nearly $1 million raised, a milestone not achieved in several years, and was recognized as one of Long Island Business News’ 30 Under 30 honorees. Beyond her professional responsibilities, she remains dedicated to service through volunteer work with organizations supporting children and families, reflecting the values of compassion, trust, honesty, and leadership that guide both her career and community involvement.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Victoria

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to the leaders and guidance I've had along the way from my managers, as well as my parents who have been a big factor in leading me in the right direction and pushing me to work harder and be better.

02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Definitely go for it, follow your dreams. It's one of the most rewarding jobs I've ever done, being in the nonprofit space. There's gonna be time along the way, but definitely don't be discouraged, and just keep moving along. And good things will come.

03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

The biggest challenge is competing with so many amazing nonprofit organizations across Long Island in a smaller but big market. On the opportunity side, blood cancer research is easily accessible and building roadmaps for treating other cancers like bone, breast, and solid tumor cancers.

04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Honesty, being trustworthy, being open with people, compassion, and giving others the space when they need it because you never know what's going on in other people's lives.
