Her Story

About Victoria

Victoria Ferguson serves as a Senior Account Executive in the ticketing technology sector, a role she has held for three years. With nine years of overall experience in sales, she previously worked in logistics and the beverage industry before transitioning to remote tech roles, including time at LinkedIn, and ultimately entering the events and ticketing industry. Ferguson earned a bachelor's degree in business with an emphasis in international business and a minor in biblical studies while playing collegiate soccer. Her expertise centers on ticketing platforms and sales, where she assists event organizers with ticket sales, platform usage, and promotion to foster community gatherings around shared interests such as festivals, theater, and conventions. She attributes her success to her upbringing and Hispanic heritage, which instilled a strong work ethic. Outside of work, Ferguson and her husband teach middle school-aged children at their church every other week. She values integrity and relationship building, and she advises young women entering sales to embrace discomfort, ask questions, and recognize the field's flexibility and opportunities.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Victoria

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to my upbringing and the way I was raised. Being of Hispanic heritage and putting my head down and just working even when things weren't going your way. Making the choice to put your head down and work and do your job diligently was taught to me at a very young age.

02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Historically sales has been a male-dominated role. What women bring is a perspective of is this what's best for you. Don't be afraid to put yourself in places where you might feel uncomfortable. If you're eager and hungry and not afraid of asking questions, sales can provide for a family, it's flexible, it offers a lot of open doors. Sales is everywhere. If you like people and think you're a good talker, sales is a really great opportunity.

03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

The field is very competitive with so many ticketing platforms each giving promises that may or may not be fulfilled, making it hard for event creators to choose. On the opportunity side, people are craving connection and community, and events allow gathering in person around shared loves like beer festivals, ballet, anime or comic cons.

04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Integrity stands out first and foremost. Relationship building is very important. I love the human aspect of my role and remembering that on a day-to-day, hearing how people are passionate about the events they're throwing keeps it grounded.
