Her Interview
Ten minutes with Victoria
01What do you attribute your success to?
Knowing the greatness and impact that I have within. Knowing that the world continues to spin and we can't sit still.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
Always be curious. It's good to learn something every day.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Be uncomfortable in spaces. Learn. Continue to ask questions. It's not good to be the most educated in the room. The person that has the best chance is the one who's listening and absorbing and taking notes and applying them to life decisions. And to network and talk to people.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
Capacity in philanthropy. Working for a small private family foundation, we have made great strides in policy work and advancement in DEI and evaluations, but if we had more folks to do as much work as we want to do, more things would get done. The biggest opportunity is to take the learnings we've learned thus far, find a way to spread knowledge, and double down on trying to find more information.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Being intentional about what you do, taking your time, being honest and open. Admitting when you may be wrong or apologizing. Knowing that you're not perfect and nobody else is.
