Victoria Meyers is an award-winning architect and founding partner of Victoria Meyers Architects in Los Angeles, California. She is recognized for her visionary approach to architecture and urban design, specializing in the manipulation of light, sound, and time to create spaces that are both technically sophisticated and deeply human-centered. Formerly a core coordinator of Columbia University’s graduate program in architecture, Meyers played a pivotal role in shaping the program for nearly 30 years, mentoring generations of architects while emphasizing accountability, technical rigor, and continuous professional growth. Her expertise spans residential, institutional, and public architecture, with a particular focus on integrating sustainable practices, specialized lighting, and acoustically informed design solutions.

Meyers previously co-led Hanrahan Meyers Architects (hMa), where she directed innovative projects such as the Digital Water i-Pavilion (DWi-P) in lower Manhattan, an interactive, sound-embedded community center adjacent to the September 11th Memorial, and the Pratt Dormitory, which showcases her ability to translate performance-space acoustic strategies into residential and institutional contexts. She has developed proprietary technical details for her projects, including custom interior condenser installations with sound attenuation, and has collaborated extensively with artists, gallerists, and sound engineers, contributing to the assembly of significant private art collections. Her research-driven work often bridges architecture, technology, and the fine arts, as exemplified in the Infinity Chapel, WaveLine, and other immersive projects.

In addition to her professional practice, Meyers has had a profound impact on architectural education, serving as the David Niland Chair at the University of Cincinnati School of Architecture, visiting professor at the University of Texas, Arlington, and teaching design studios at CUNY for over 16 years. She is an accomplished author, publishing Designing with Light and Shape of Sound, which reflect her innovative investigations into space, sound, and light. A Harvard University graduate with a dual degree in civil engineering and art history from Lafayette College, Meyers combines technical precision with a sensitive, arts-driven approach, establishing her as a leading voice in contemporary architecture and urban design.
