Her Story

About Victoria

I've been an Administrator in the accounting profession for a little over 3 years now, though I've been doing administrative work for much longer than that. Before my current role, I’ve held several different positions with a private security company where I also did administrative work. I was also a flight attendant, which included some administrative work as well. Honestly, I never imagined I'd be in accounting in a million years - I just fell into it, and I ended up enjoying it. My role is customer service oriented. Every day I strive to provide the best service possible to our clientelle. Everyone has different tax needs, so we prepare them to have the best tax planning experience and tax season possible. We also specialize in tax preparation for not only individuals, but also businesses, non profits, estates and trusts. What I'm most proud of is being able to assist people, specifically elderly people or people that are dealing with trusts and estates who've just lost a loved one, and guiding them along the process of what's next. I really enjoy working at my firm and I feel confident in my day-to-day. I plan to continue to grow within my role and look forward to what the future brings.

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to my family for always believing in me. The admin team I work alongside with, they are rock stars. Lastly, my daughter, she’s my motivation.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

Stay focused. Take a leap of faith, and never give up.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

I would say, challenge yourself. Always be in the know of what's hot in the profession, staying educated, staying driven, and be adaptable to the changes of the industry, like AI and automation. It's important as a useful leveraging tool to assist you in your everyday tasks. Be brave to ask for help when you need it. Sometimes you have to start at the bottom before you can transition into another role at the top.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

I think that it can be challenging as a woman to grow and be recognized by everyone. I think that it's important to have an even level playing field. Representation matters, and administrators are evolving, pushing things along in the background to make sure that things get executed.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

I would have to say, helpfulness and integrity. They are my core values.
