Victoria Lynn Perez is a driven and purpose-oriented junior at Norwich University, Class of 2027, where she is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Biology as a recipient of a competitive 4-Year Army Merit-Based ROTC Scholarship. As a cadet in the Corps of Cadets, she balances rigorous academics with leadership development, currently carrying a 22-credit course load while mentoring three sophomore cadets. Victoria is deeply committed to entering the United States Army after graduation, with aspirations of contracting in Military Intelligence. She views leadership, mentorship, and education as foundational pillars of her character and future service.

Beyond her academic and military commitments, Victoria actively contributes to campus life. She serves as a Writing Coach at Norwich University, helping fellow students strengthen their communication skills, and participates in organizations including the Norwich University Cavalry Troop, S-1, Norwich Assistant English Tutor program, Norwich Pipes and Drums, and the Norwich String Ensemble. Her previous professional experience includes working as an Executive Assistant at PH Robb, where she managed communications and scheduling across time zones, and as a Lift Operator at Sugarbush Resort, where she prioritized safety and customer service in demanding outdoor conditions.

Victoria’s leadership journey began at Kingwood High School, where she completed four years of NJROTC, participated in varsity choir, athletics, STEM programs, and student leadership organizations. These formative experiences instilled in her the values of honesty, resilience, courage, and grit. Certified in CPR through the American Red Cross and trained in Social and Behavioral Research through the CITI Program, Victoria continues to cultivate discipline, adaptability, and service in every environment she enters. Guided by integrity, temperance, and wisdom, she remains committed to growth—both her own and that of those she leads.

What do you attribute your success to?

Victoria is an incredibly vivacious, passionate, articulate and driven individual who shared a bit of her background with us as well as the story regarding her inspiration for going into her career path. Victoria is currently attending a private senior military college known as Norwich University. One of the reasons she chose that school was to ensure she had the best of three topics specifically which were leadership, mentorship, and education. She thinks that those 3 topics really go hand in hand and fit her personality and character as well as motivate her to continuously strive for excellence in everything that she's been a part of. There are so many things that have really been a source of pride for Victoria including developing her leadership continuously as she is planning to enter the military after she graduates. She is hoping to get a contract with the army under military intelligence which will be a fantastic opportunity for growth and open new doors for her.

Victoria currently has a job within the and it is her job to mentor 3CADETS which are all sophomores. She has extreme pride in being able to offer them guidance and help them develop their own personal path of leadership and ensure that they are properly trained in what is known as their 4 year leadership plan.

When asked about people who have inspired Victorious Path along the way she said that she could name specific alumni from Norwich University but it feels like every individual she has encountered that has graduated from this institution has been just a wonderful inspiration, support and impacted her life in providing her with the opportunity. She is an incredibly advantageous person and she loves being able to talk with others and have conversations regarding her career path and being able to really explore opportunities and what the next step in her adventure will reveal.

Victoria is extremely proud of the research that she has been able to conduct on social hierarchy in species of fish Which give us a better understanding of animal behavior and how we behave in certain ways under certain circumstances. This helps us understand human response to stressful situations and why we feel more comfortable in Group settings and things of that nature. Victoria's research opportunities have definitely been a solid steppingstone in her educational career and a source of pride and achievement. She also highlighted the importance of Northern University's history as the first military academy to admit women into the Corps of Cadets.

I'm a driven and purpose-oriented Cadet at Norwich University, currently in my junior year pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. As an Army ROTC cadet, I’ve learned to balance leadership and followership with discipline, resilience, and a deep respect for the people I serve alongside. My passion for military service and human behavior fuels everything I do, whether in uniform or in the classroom.

I thrive in dynamic, fast-paced environments where multitasking, communication, and adaptability are essential. From tutoring English to volunteering in the local community, I stay engaged and committed to growth, both my own and that of others. Each challenge I face is an opportunity to build character and sharpen my skills through self-reliance, reflection, and action.

Whether I’m leading a team, assisting a peer, or learning something new, I aim to bring value through integrity, service, and purpose. I approach each day guided by honesty, temperance, and wisdom, the guiding values I’ve come to hold close through my time at Norwich.

What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

When asked about what advice Victoria would share with our Young Women readers, she wanted to emphasize the importance of being passionate about their interests and being able to develop confidence in what they bring to the table. Being able to recognize their own strength for success is key to moving forward and being able to build a successful career.

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Victoria will be jumping in to add more detail pertaining to her goals for the future and what keeps her motivated and has inspired her. She will also be adding detail regarding anybody who has made an impact in her educational career so far and the people who have mentored or supported her, as well as other interests and hobbies, how she would like to connect with other amazing women within our community and inspire young women readers, and any detail pertaining to her future and her goals.

What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Victoria highlighted her academic background, including a certificate in experimental psychology that allows for semi-independent research and assistant work in social psychology. When asked about her personal interests and activities Victoria highlighted that she loved staying active and being able to get outdoors and sometimes she will grab a heavy rock and just get outdoors and start moving going on hikes and enjoying her surroundings to clear her mind and be able to keep her body active, Although finding time for herself is difficult because she is mainly focused on being able to build a successful career and dedicate herself to everything she is working on. Victoria also discussed her dedicated involvement in various campus clubs, including their role as Vice President of the Baking, Pipes and Drums clubs, and Silverwings alike.
