Victoria Huggins Peurifoy

I've been a poet for a very long time and work at a writer's room at Drexel University where we had workshops all the time. I received a Stockton-Buart grant that allowed me to facilitate my own journaling workshops at shelters, churches, mosques, temples, high schools, and a business center. I used to facilitate a poetry and discussion group for about 14 years at a senior citizen center on a volunteer basis before securing a position with Drexel University. After working for the government for 35 years documenting everything, I wrote my first poetry book and have since written 15 other books including poetry, memoirs, and a medical narrative called Triumph and Crisis about my own surgeries. I am a performing artist who will be performing at the 250 celebration for Philadelphia and the Harlem Book Fair, and recently released a book called Vision Comes With Truth and Purpose with partners.
