About Victoria

Victoria Velasquez-Feikles is a Doctoral Researcher at Clemson University completing her dissertation on the intersection of PTSD, complex trauma, and cognitive functioning. With over 10 years in neuropsychology and psychology, she previously served as a neurocognitive clinician for five years in rare and orphan disease studies, training professionals worldwide on cognitive assessments for pediatric populations. She earned her master's degree from King's College London, her alma mater with which she continues to collaborate on publications, and she received this degree while pregnant with her third child. Her career path includes early work as a cognitive therapy technician, positions in Florida with geriatric and adult traumatic brain injury patients, and time at Children's Hospital Colorado focusing on pediatric neuropsychology.

01What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Stick with it and do not let the limits of someone else's expertise limit your own possibilities in the field. Keep your mind open and keep your interests alive even if it is not exactly what you are doing now. You will find your place and there will be people along the way, especially other women, to support you. This field is full of wonderful women.
