About Vida
Vida Chavez serves as a licensed clinical social worker with NYC HRA, where she has dedicated 33 years to homeless services. In her role she supports homeless families and singles along with adults navigating crisis situations in shelters that the organization oversees throughout New York City. Chavez earned a master's degree in social work and holds a bachelor's degree in sociology from Fordham University. She is a member of the National Association of Social Workers. Chavez attributes her success to her enjoyment of helping people and witnessing their progress, noting that the ability to impact someone's life remains central to her work. She advises young women entering the field to try to make a difference anywhere they can.

01What do you attribute your success to?
I just enjoy helping people and seeing other people progress. Being able to impact someone's life is the key factor to my success.
