Her Story
About Vilija
Vilija Trevisan holds an MBA in pharmaceutical and healthcare marketing from St. Joseph's University and brings a pharmacy background to her work in the healthcare industry. After immigrating to the United States as a single mother without English proficiency, she worked tirelessly to support herself and her daughter while pursuing her education and career goals. She is passionate about home care and senior living, recognizing the field's growth due to an aging population and its irreplaceable personal and emotional nature that cannot be replicated by artificial intelligence. Trevisan values being giving and responsible while enjoying training and teaching others. She attributes her success to believing in herself, listening to input from others, and applying both work and life experiences. Her advice to young women entering the field is to pursue opportunities together, and she draws inspiration from the lesson that experience, including life experience, matters most in professional settings.
Her Interview
Ten minutes with Vilija
01What do you attribute your success to?
I listen to others, I like opinions, I like suggestions. But I just did by myself how I thought that is... I believed in myself, what I'm doing.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
Experience matters. Not only experience at work, but experience in life matters. That is biggest value... when corporates or companies are looking for employees. Not about age... experience and even life experience, especially life experiences added to work experience matters the most.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I would be so, so happy. I said, let's do it together.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
Not enough employees in home care. But it is a growing field because population is aging and home care cannot be taken by artificial intelligence. It is supposed to be personal and emotional.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
I'm very giving. Very responsible. And I like to train to teach others.
