Her Interview

Ten minutes with Virginia

01What do you attribute your success to?

My success comes from my family, especially my mom who is a police officer and raised me and my brothers as a single parent while going through the ranks. Watching her make it through tough moments was inspiring and showed me what hard work looks like.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

Don't take on too much that you can handle. If you have a supervisor, utilize it.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Don't allow anyone to dumb you down. If God made you loud, be loud and proud. If God made you smart, be intelligent and own it. Don't allow anyone to dumb down any light that the Lord has given you, because that is gonna be your natural gift.

04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Integrity is the most important value. It is thrown around a lot but when you dive deep into the meaning, you realize just how important it is to have that. When you speak on a person's integrity, you're also going to be speaking about them as a person, their work ethic, and everything that they basically do. Everything kind of lines up behind integrity.
