Ten minutes with Virginia
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to a strong foundation in accounting and operations, which taught me how to bring structure and strategic thinking to complex environments. I also value my ability to build trust and strong relationships, which has helped me turn challenges into productive collaborations. Over time, curiosity and continuous learning—especially through podcasts—led me to discover how powerful strategic storytelling can be in transforming both personal and professional outcomes.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I’ve received is to focus less on knowing everything and more on consistently applying what I learn. Mentors like Steve Stewart and Chastity Jeff showed me the importance of execution, accountability, and surrounding yourself with people who help turn ideas into action. That guidance continues to shape how I approach both my business and client work today.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering this industry is to avoid relying on a single marketing channel and instead think in terms of integrated, layered strategies. Sustainable growth comes from combining short-term efforts like networking, referrals, and social media with long-term assets that build authority over time.
Podcasting, in particular, should be viewed as a long-term credibility builder rather than an immediate lead generator. It allows you to consistently demonstrate expertise, build trust, and create lasting value for your audience. When all of your marketing efforts work together—podcasting, content, networking, and outreach—you create a system that reinforces itself. That is where real, sustainable business growth happens.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The biggest challenge in my field is keeping up with how quickly podcasting platforms, audience behaviors, and distribution standards continue to evolve while still maintaining consistency and clarity for clients. Managing all the moving parts—especially across multi-platform strategies—can be complex, particularly during launches and ongoing optimization.
At the same time, this creates a strong opportunity because podcasting is becoming an increasingly trusted channel for building authority and deep client relationships. There’s a growing need for strategy-driven systems that simplify production and amplify impact, especially for professionals who want to stand out in crowded markets. That combination of complexity and growth allows me to help clients turn confusion into structure and build podcasts that support long-term visibility and business results.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values most important to me in my work are simplicity, clarity, and attention to detail. Even in a complex and fast-moving industry, I focus on making processes easy to understand and actionable for clients while ensuring every element—from messaging to production—is executed with care and precision.
In my personal life, I value connection, stewardship, and balance. Spending time with my family, supporting my children’s activities, and caring for our rescued animals keeps me grounded, while gardening has become a meaningful way to slow down and stay connected to growth and creativity in everyday life. Overall, I try to bring the same mindset into both areas of my life: creating structure where needed, appreciating the small details, and finding joy in meaningful, intentional moments.
