Her Story

About Viviana

I've been in the technology industry for 4 years, bringing expertise in imports and exports, logistics, supply chain management, startups, software, and e-commerce. I have two professional achievements I'm particularly proud of. The first was being part of a company from its creation all the way through to selling it in my previous role. The second was participating in developing a project from zero here in the U.S. and Canada, and being able to keep it growing about 30% every year. My educational background includes a bachelor's degree in psychology from Universidad de la Savannah in Bogota, Colombia, which I received in 2003, followed by a two-year specialization in Consumer Psychology and Marketing. I focused on industrial psychology and human resources rather than clinical work. Most recently, in 2024, I completed the Executive Women Executive Program at FIU. I'm currently transitioning between positions as I move into my next role.

Ten minutes with Viviana

01What do you attribute your success to?

Since I'm a Latin woman, I do have sometimes a lot of challenges, but I think to keep persistence is important. Also, being able to have that ability to connect with people is one of the skills that has helped me have the success that I have right now. Being able to connect with people in different levels, listening to people, listening to their perspectives, and of course, participate and share your ideas when you're supposed to, but integrating that perspective of yours plus the other ones and come up with solutions that integrate everybody's perspective has been helpful. So, basically, the relationships and the connections that you build, and of course, being persistent on what you want.

02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

I think the main thing is to work with purpose, and to work in a place where they identify with the company values and with their own values, like work aligned. I think that's mainly the most important, because when you find that deep purpose and the meaning of what you're doing in your role, and if that's aligned with what you're doing within the company, everything else comes easy. So, it's easier to keep working on your goals, plus, of course, working on the goals for the company.
