I attribute much of who I am today to the values instilled in me by my parents. They were my earliest role models and the driving force behind the way I learned to approach life, work, and challenges. From them, I learned that honesty and integrity are non-negotiable, that hard work builds character, and that growth begins when we are willing to keep learning.

Perhaps the most lasting gift they gave me was a genuine love for learning. In our home, learning was never something to fear or endure; it was something to enjoy. Curiosity was encouraged, questions were welcomed, and discovering something new was always exciting. That mindset has stayed with me throughout my life and has shaped the way I have approached every new role, challenge, and opportunity.

Even today, I carry those lessons with me. They influence how I lead, how I support others, and how I navigate uncertainty. To me, success is not defined only by accomplishments or titles. It is also about staying grounded in your values, remaining curious, continuing to grow, and using what you have learned to create a meaningful and positive impact on the people around you.

Do not let other people’s perception of you define who you become. Be confident in your abilities, stay true to yourself, and give yourself permission to explore paths that may not look like anyone else’s.

There are many opportunities in this industry, but your journey does not have to follow a traditional or predictable route. You may change directions, discover new strengths, or choose opportunities that others do not immediately understand. That is okay.

Be willing to take chances, keep learning, and trust yourself enough to step into unfamiliar spaces. Sometimes growth means walking a path that feels a little lonely before others can see where it is leading.

Most importantly, do not measure your progress against someone else’s timeline. Your career can be successful, meaningful, and fulfilling even if it looks completely different from the path you once imagined. Be curious, be courageous, and keep moving forward in a way that feels authentic to you.

One of the biggest challenges in my field is that systems engineering practices are still underutilized. They can initially feel like added documentation or process overhead, but when implemented effectively, they create a strong foundation for development. Good systems engineering can improve alignment, reduce rework, and help projects and programs run much more smoothly. This is especially important in the commercial trucking and automotive space, where adoption still tends to lag behind the passenger vehicle industry.

Honesty and integrity are values I hold very closely, both personally and professionally. I believe in being transparent, dependable, and true to my word. When I commit to something, I take responsibility for following through and delivering on it. I value the same sense of accountability in the people I work and build relationships with. For me, trust is created through consistency—when our actions reflect our words and commitments.
