What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to my passion for learning, which drives me to continuously grow and improve in every aspect of my work. I have been lucky to have great friends, managers, co-workers, and family that have supported me and believed in me to continue to pursue new opportunities. My parents taught me to work hard for what I want and succeed by problem solving and thinking outside the box!! I LOVE to work and I enjoy a good CHALLENGE. My passion is helping people!!
What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advise I have received is to "keep going", "keep applying yourself". No one is going to do it for you. If you want to grow, you have to have the mindset to be compliant with the time you have available for what you are pursuing. If you keep putting it on the back burner, you will never go anywhere, resulting in no change.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I would say, go for it. If you have the drive to learn something new, pursue it wholeheartedly and don’t let hesitation hold you back. Growth happens when you step outside of your comfort zone!
Attending events, volunteering for projects, or learning new skills all build your reputation as someone dependable and driven. The more you say yes, the more opportunities you create for yourself, and the more you’ll stand out as someone who’s ready to step up to the challenge!
Q
What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The financial planning industry is building trust and connection in an increasingly digital world. Working in the financial industry is challenging when trying to make that personal connection with your client. Everyone wants someone they can trust. This is a hard concept sometimes when your on a zoom call or phone call and you dont see a video of the person on the other side of the screen, like you would in person. The fear of the unknown is there. Real opportunity emerges when we blend innovation that streamlines how we work with the human connection that fuels lasting relationships and authentic change.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The most important value to me in both my work and personal life is helping others. I find fulfillment in supporting and empowering people, whether through my professional contributions or personal interactions.
