Her Story

About Wendy

Wendy began her journey in real estate 27 years ago at just 19 years old, starting as a receptionist with no prior knowledge of the industry. As a single mother of three, she built her career step by step, eventually rising into leadership roles, including managing a large condo conversion operation handling thousands of transactions across multiple states. Those early experiences laid the foundation for her deep expertise in contracts, closings, and transaction coordination.

In 2008, Wendy launched her own transaction coordination business, Contract to Closing, which allowed her to build trusted relationships with realtors and expand her impact across the real estate community. Fourteen years ago, she co-founded Title Now with her business partner, creating a title company rooted in speed, education, and exceptional customer service. Together, they set out to redefine the title experience by making clients feel informed, supported, and confident throughout every step of the process.

Today, Wendy serves as co-founder of Title Now, where she specializes in contract management and hands-on transaction support for buyers, sellers, and real estate professionals. She is known for her client-first approach, guiding people through the emotional and complex process of real estate closings with patience and care. After nearly three decades in the industry, she takes pride in building a company that continues to thrive on trust, responsiveness, and a commitment to making every transaction as smooth as possible.

Ten minutes with Wendy

01What do you attribute your success to?

My children were my why - they have always been the driving force behind everything I do. As a single mother of three, they gave me the motivation to keep pushing forward no matter what challenges came my way. I also attribute my success to surrounding myself with the right sphere of people who push me and help me maintain a positive mindset. Building genuine relationships has been crucial - I've learned that you don't always have to be selling something, you just need to allow yourself to be known for who you are, and that authenticity attracts more business than anything. I tell myself every single day that failure is not an option, and I actually believe it. When you truly embrace that mindset and stay positive, looking forward instead of dwelling on obstacles, you can be incredibly successful in this business. Real estate changed my life forever, and I'm grateful for it every day. Even when people ask how I'm doing in this tough market, I stay focused on learning our market, staying positive, moving forward, and conquering whatever challenges come our way - we don't stop.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best guidance I received came from my mentor, Connie Spero, who worked with me at the condo development company. She gave me invaluable training and advice that I still use to this day, and her impact on my life was profound. Through her mentorship, I learned principles that have shaped my entire career. One of the most important lessons I carry forward is to never listen to the crowd and just focus on what you want to do. There's always enough business to go around for everyone, so you don't need to get caught up in what everyone else is doing or saying. I also learned that building relationships is incredibly important - you don't have to always be selling something, you just need to allow yourself to be known for who you are. That authenticity and genuine connection will attract more business than any sales pitch. And perhaps most importantly, I learned to keep a positive mind, always look forward, and remember that failure is not an option. When you say that to yourself every single day and actually believe it, you can be incredibly successful in this business.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice is simple but powerful: don't listen to the crowd, and just focus on what you want to do. There's always enough business to go around for everyone, so don't get caught up in what others are saying or doing. Building relationships is absolutely crucial to success in this industry - and here's the key: you don't have to always be selling something. Just allow yourself to be known for who you are. That authenticity will attract more business than anything else. Keep a positive mindset and always look forward. Remember that failure is not an option - say that to yourself every single day and actually believe it. When you embrace that mentality, you can be incredibly successful in this business. Don't be afraid to start at the bottom like I did as a receptionist at 19. I didn't even know what real estate meant when I started, but I was willing to learn and work hard. As a single mother of three, real estate became the pillar that changed my life forever. Even in tough markets, stay focused on learning your market, staying positive, moving forward, and conquering whatever challenges come your way. We don't stop - that's the mindset you need to succeed.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

The biggest challenge we face is 1000% the oversaturated market. It's incredibly competitive out there, and the reality is that we sell the same title insurance that the title company down the street sells. The products are essentially identical across providers, so you can't differentiate yourself based on what you're selling. What sets us apart and creates opportunity in this challenging environment is our customer service. That's our competitive advantage - being responsive, supportive, and truly there for our clients throughout the entire transaction process. In a market where everyone is selling the same thing, exceptional service is what makes the difference and allows us to not just survive but thrive after 14 years in business.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

God comes first and foremost in my life - my faith is the foundation of everything I do. My family and my children have always been my why, the driving force behind all my hard work and perseverance. Now my three grandkids have become my new why, bringing me incredible joy. I believe deeply in staying positive no matter what challenges come your way, and I live by the principle that failure is not an option. You have to say that to yourself every single day and actually believe it. I'm also passionate about giving back and supporting causes that matter. For about five years now, I've been supporting Quest to Freedom, a nonprofit organization focused on combating human trafficking. It's a cause that's very meaningful to me, and I'm strongly committed to supporting their mission. In my work, I value authenticity and genuine relationships - allowing yourself to be known for who you are rather than always trying to sell something. That integrity and realness in how I connect with people is what has sustained my success over 27 years in this industry.
