Q

What do you attribute your success to?

My success stems from resilience, reinvention, and a deep commitment to helping others find purpose through change. After being laid off right before 9/11, I pivoted into entrepreneurship and launched a children’s art business in 2005 that combined creativity with community engagement. Following a transformative year in 2013 marked by personal loss and growth, I transitioned into life coaching to guide others through their own transitions. Since then, I’ve been coaching individuals seeking clarity and direction, particularly professionals approaching or entering retirement who are asking, “What’s next?” In 2020, I launched my podcast, Boomer Banter, as a platform to inspire older adults to reimagine life after 50 and challenge the notion that aging means slowing down. Through both my coaching and podcast, I help people reconnect with passion, purpose, and possibility empowering them to move from confusion to clarity and embrace their next chapter with confidence.

Q

What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I’ve ever received is the importance of surrounding yourself with a supportive and inspiring community. I draw tremendous inspiration from the women in my network, especially the 12-member AgeWise Collective, where we lift each other up through brainstorming, honest feedback, and celebration. Their shared wisdom and camaraderie continually remind me that success isn’t a solo journey it’s nurtured through connection, collaboration, and the encouragement of those who genuinely want to see you thrive.

Q

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering this industry is to stay curious, collaborative, and true to yourself. Don’t fall into the trap of comparison; your path is uniquely yours. Focus on connection over competition, and approach every opportunity as a chance to learn and grow. Authenticity will always set you apart, and meaningful relationships will sustain your success far more than any marketing strategy. Surround yourself with people who inspire and challenge you, and make it a priority to lift others as you rise.

Q

What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

The biggest challenges in my field are the inherent solitude of coaching and podcasting, particularly as a solopreneur, and the need to balance the business side, including marketing, PR, and networking, while preserving the emotional energy required to support clients effectively. At the same time, there are tremendous opportunities. The growth of podcasting and online learning has opened new ways to connect with audiences, and tools like my “What’s Keeping You Stuck?” quiz, along with collaborations with groups such as the AgeWise Collective, have allowed me to expand my reach globally and make a greater impact.

Q

What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values most important to me in my work and personal life are balance, presence, and intentionality. I limit my client load to four or five at a time to ensure I can provide depth and quality in my coaching. Caring for my 96-year-old mother keeps me grounded and grateful, while gardening, karaoke, and time with my grandchildren recharge my energy and inspire me to bring my best self to both my work and personal life.
