Her Story

About Wendy

Wendy Holzenthal is a Business Systems Analyst in the IT industry with over 35 years of experience. She began her career after earning a bachelor's degree in business information systems and quantitative analysis, starting in programming before moving into IT auditing and then business systems analysis within healthcare. After taking time off to raise and homeschool her children, she returned to the workforce and pursued a Master of Science in Management of Information Systems with a concentration in cybersecurity at age 59, graduating with a 4.0 GPA to refresh her skills in a rapidly evolving field. Her professional journey has included roles in QA and test automation, but she finds her greatest passion in business systems analysis, where she improves processes and supports users by drawing on her broad background in auditing and quality assurance. She is a board member of the MSU Alumni Association, serving as either Secretary or Treasurer, and maintains a side business called The Computer Chick focused on basic IT support and website development for clients, including nonprofits.
