She earned a bachelor's degree in business administration from Tarleton State University, with her official graduation in 2015, and obtained her broker's license in 2012. Wendy is actively involved in professional organizations including the National Association of Realtors, Texas Association of Realtors, and Granbury Association of Realtors. She attributes her success to hard work, guidance from mentors, and lessons learned from challenges and failures.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Wendy

01What do you attribute your success to?

A lot of hard work, but also all the mentors that I've had along the way. I've had a lot of great mentors. And it's not all what I've learned, it's what I've learned from the hard things, going through the hard times, and failing, and learning from my failures, for sure.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

Trying to look at things from a professional viewpoint and be able to take constructive criticism. Take constructive criticism and listen to it instead of just getting your feelings hurt or running away from that. Truly try to listen to that and grow from that.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Understand the commitment level it takes to being a real estate agent. Treat it like a job. You have to work at it every single day. Have a schedule and stick to your schedule. Stay in touch with your database on a regular schedule. Treat everybody honestly and fairly.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

The market is slower and more stagnant right now because interest rates are higher, making it tougher to move listings and find buyers. The challenge is having the tenacity to work through the slower times without giving up. The opportunity is to stick with it, improve your skill set during this time, so when the market turns you will be on top.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Honesty and integrity. Having a good work ethic. Good time management and having a good work-life balance so that you don't forget your family.
