What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to hard work, perseverance, and a constant drive to improve. I never give up, even when things get tough, and I'm always looking for ways to grow, learn, and be better—both personally and professionally.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering the coatings inspection industry is to be confident, strong, and develop a thick skin—you'll need it in a tough, male-dominated field. Gaining hands-on experience is essential before stepping into an inspector role. I strongly recommend spending at least five years in the field to truly understand the work, build credibility, and prepare yourself for the challenges and expectations of the job.
What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges in my field is being a woman in a male-dominated industry. It often means having to prove yourself more than once, earn respect through hard work, and stand your ground with confidence. But it’s also an opportunity—to break barriers, shift perceptions, and pave the way for more women to succeed in this space.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
In both my work and personal life, I value giving back and being part of something bigger than myself. I’m proud to be involved with professional associations like AAMP, not just for their industry impact, but for their commitment to charitable efforts. Supporting organizations like St. Jude’s, the Humane Society, and veterans’ associations reflects the kind of integrity and community-minded spirit I strive to bring into everything I do.
