About Wendy

Wendy Singer is the Executive Director of No Shame On You, where she has served for nearly three years after two years as program director. With 29 years of experience in the nonprofit sector and nearly five years specifically in mental health, she began her career after earning an undergraduate degree in Human Development and Family Studies. She moved to Chicago and started as a child care consultant for the Jane Addams Whole House Association, later working as a crisis worker at a youth social service agency responding to police calls involving runaway or displaced youth. She then spent 18 years at JCCs of Chicago as a summer camp director focused on youth development, followed by a role as director of education at the Illinois Holocaust Museum. Wendy now works for No Shame On U, drawn by her family's mental health challenges. She is passionate about supporting families, sharing stories to reduce stigma, and ensuring mental health receives the same attention as physical health, while also overseeing fundraising and resource development for the organization.
