Her Story

About Whitley

Whitley Collier is a Senior Customer Success Manager specializing in healthcare IT, bringing a decade of experience to her work supporting technology systems implementation, government compliance, and large-scale client relationships. Early in her career, she traveled nationally to train healthcare providers on electronic systems, helping streamline documentation and workflows so that clinicians could dedicate more time to direct patient care. That groundwork carried her through roles at organizations including athenahealth, OneTrust, and Patientco before she joined Amwell, where she now serves in a strategic, one-to-one partnership role for the company's Government Solutions division. In this capacity, she leads the My Military Health telehealth initiative, working to ensure that active military members and their beneficiaries in remote areas have dependable access to virtual care — an effort that has contributed to 350,000 scheduled visits over the past year and earned her the My Military Health Government Solutions Medal of Freedom Award.

Outside of her corporate work, Collier channels her passion for service into the Sacred Room Foundation, a faith-based nonprofit she founded to help women navigate emotional healing and rediscover their sense of purpose. Through the organization's companion app, available on both the Apple App Store and Google Play, she offers users faith-centered tools such as guided breathing exercises, affirmations, and devotionals designed to ease stress and strengthen a woman's connection to her identity. She also leads a large women's ministry in Atlanta, extending her commitment to faith-based leadership and mentorship beyond the digital space and into her local community.

A graduate of Tennessee State University, Collier holds a background in education that continues to inform her approach to empowering and teaching other women in leadership and faith settings; she later expanded her expertise with a graduate certificate in Health Information Technology from Kennesaw State University. She is a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, and credits mentors such as Dr. Cariana Bryant with shaping her professional journey. Whether guiding military families toward better healthcare access or walking alongside women in their personal healing, Collier's career reflects a consistent thread of service, faith, and purpose-driven leadership.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Whitley

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to ten years of dedicated experience in healthcare IT, which began with traveling to train providers on new systems in order to strengthen workflow and improve patient care. That foundation carried me into my current role overseeing telehealth access for military members, where our team has supported 350,000 virtual visits. Alongside my professional work, founding the Sacred Room app to help women heal and manage stress through faith-based practices has been just as central to who I am and what I consider success.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best guidance I've received has come through the mentorship of Dr. Cariana Bryant, whose influence has shaped how I approach my career and leadership. My educational foundation from Tennessee State University, along with the community and support I've found through Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, have also played an important role in preparing me for the path I've taken.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

I'd tell young women entering this field to always make time for themselves. For me, that looks like horseback riding, watching F1 racing, and reading in nature — activities that help me recharge so I can continue to show up fully for my work and for the people I serve.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

The biggest opportunity I see is simply the ability to work hard within my field and use that effort to help as many people as possible.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Helping active military members gain access to healthcare, and supporting women through healing and purpose-driven work, are central to who I am. I also make it a priority to pour into myself through reading and time in nature, so that I'm equipped to better serve others.
