Q

What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to my mentor and my previous boss, Matt Crutchfield. He's still within the same organization that I'm currently in, but I'm no longer his direct report. He always pushed me and still pushes me to be the best I can be. He really pushes the idea that it's not the challenge that is blocking you, but how you show up and how you represent yourself to any challenges or any obstacle that gets in your way. That mindset has been instrumental in helping me navigate my career and overcome difficulties.

Q

What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I’ve ever received came from a mentor who told me that it’s not the challenge that’s blocking you, but how you show up and how you represent yourself. That guidance has shaped the way I approach every opportunity, reminding me that my mindset, presence, and professionalism are just as important as the work itself.

Q

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

I would advise young women entering the industry to be open to change. In supply chain, no two days are exactly the same, and embracing the constant shifts and volatility can make your work far more rewarding. By approaching challenges with an open mind, rather than getting caught up in the obstacles, you position yourself for greater success and adaptability.

Q

What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges in our field right now is navigating supply chain bottlenecks, which has made it essential to maintain multiple sources and outlets for different materials. Tariffs also present significant hurdles, particularly for a global company like ours. Additionally, because we operate in propane, gas, and chemicals, our business is highly dependent on the weather. For example, a warmer winter, like we experienced this year, leads to a drop in sales, which creates ongoing challenges for planning and forecasting.

Q

What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values that are most important to me in both my work and personal life are openness to change, empathy and a people-centered approach, and professionalism in how I show up and represent myself. These principles guide the way I interact with others, approach challenges, and pursue growth.
