Her Story

About Whitney

I have always been curious about the world and fascinated by the ways people think, work, and create. This curiosity has shaped my career in marketing and operations, but it is my love for connecting with people that drives me every day. I am passionate about diversity, inclusion, and learning from different cultures, and I strive to create environments where everyone feels seen, valued, and empowered to contribute. Whether mentoring colleagues, collaborating across teams, or engaging with clients, I approach every interaction with empathy, curiosity, and a genuine interest in understanding people. Outside of work, I enjoy exploring new cultures, traveling, and finding ways to support and uplift others.

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to curiosity, adaptability, and hard work. Growing up, I was always eager to understand how things work and find solutions, which naturally led me to marketing and operations. My career has taken me from teaching and guiding students to managing complex business development and marketing initiatives at the national level. Each step has taught me the importance of persistence, clear thinking, and learning from every experience. I approach challenges with focus and creativity, and I credit my ability to adapt and take initiative for much of my professional growth.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I ever received was to focus on learning and taking initiative, even when the path isn’t perfectly clear. Early in my career, I learned that opportunities often come to those who are willing to step in, ask questions, and take ownership of projects. From teaching students to leading national marketing and business development initiatives, I’ve found that curiosity, persistence, and a willingness to dive in have consistently opened doors and helped me grow in ways I never expected.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

I would tell young women entering marketing operations to be confident in their curiosity and don’t be afraid to take on projects that feel challenging. The work can be complex and fast-moving, but leaning into opportunities to learn, ask questions, and take ownership will set you apart. Build relationships, be willing to collaborate across teams, and focus on understanding the bigger picture as well as the details. Most importantly, trust your instincts and don’t be afraid to bring your unique perspective to the table, it’s often the fresh ideas and initiative that make the biggest impact.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges in marketing today is standing out in a crowded digital landscape where audiences are constantly being bombarded with content. At the same time, this creates an incredible opportunity to connect with people in meaningful ways through personalized campaigns, data-driven insights, and compelling storytelling. Marketers who can combine creativity with strategy and measure impact effectively have the chance to drive real business growth while building authentic connections with customers. I see it as an exciting time to innovate, experiment, and make marketing both impactful and memorable.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values that matter most to me are empathy, integrity, and drive. I approach my work and life by trying to understand and connect with the people around me, which helps me collaborate effectively and make thoughtful decisions. I believe in acting with honesty and reliability in everything I do, building trust with colleagues, clients, and partners. At the same time, I bring drive and determination to every project, pushing to achieve goals, overcome challenges, and create meaningful impact. These values guide how I lead, learn, and grow both personally and professionally.
