About Whitney
I've been working as a pharmacy technician for over 12 years, beginning my career in 2014. I started in what was traditionally seen as an entry-level position and worked my way up through dedication and continuous learning. In 2022, I achieved national certification as a pharmacy technician, which was a significant milestone for me since I'm not always the best test-taker, but I passed on my first try and did better than I expected. During the COVID pandemic in 2021, I signed up to administer vaccines, and I've been giving most vaccines in retail pharmacy settings ever since. Getting comfortable with needles and earning patients' trust has been incredibly rewarding. Most of my career has been in retail pharmacy, but over the past year I've explored remote work opportunities, including specialty pharmacy orders where I worked third-party through a pharmacy in Connecticut and obtained my Connecticut license. Currently, I'm a clinical pharmacy technician with Humana, working from home for almost 2 months now. In this role, I assist members who have Humana insurance by helping them set up prescription deliveries through local pharmacies or mail order. My daily responsibilities center around HIPAA compliance, verifying member identities, obtaining proper consent, and ensuring I'm protecting medical safety and privacy in every interaction.
