About Xiomara
Xiomara Calderon is a technical PM and lead PM at a company in New York City, where she leads a group of PMs and manages the largest tech account at her agency for a large e-commerce platform. Her responsibilities include partnering with e-commerce clients on creative and technical exercises, collaborating closely with developers, analytics teams for data analytics, and QA teams for testing, as well as road mapping and executing projects through meetings, alignment, and coordination. With over 15 years in her field, she began her career as an electronics engineer, graduating from school in Colombia before completing an internship in the United States. She worked at a startup in Austin, Texas, and then at smaller companies in the hardware field before transitioning into software. Her areas of specialization include software, hardware, and more recently AI, AEO, and AI search. Xiomara attributes her success to her extreme discipline, taking the promises she makes to herself seriously, and being relentless in pursuing her goals. She draws inspiration from advice to trust her gut and decisions, as well as Michelle Obama's message that we should not believe the myth that we do not belong somewhere, since we earn our space at the table.

01What do you attribute your success to?
I think discipline. I'm an extremely disciplined person, and I take the promises that I make to myself very seriously, and I'm just kind of relentless when I'm trying to get somewhere.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
Trust your gut, like trust yourself, trust your decisions. And from Michelle Obama: we shouldn't believe the myth that we don't belong somewhere. We earn the space on the table more than we have, that they work harder, that they are better, that they are smarter.
