About Yaimara
I am a workforce development and higher education professional with extensive experience in program management, grant administration, and community partnerships, currently serving as Grant Project Manager for Miami Tech Works at Miami Dade College, a role I have held since June 2024. Miami Tech Works is a ten-million-dollar workforce development initiative funded by the U.S. Economic Development Administration's Good Jobs Challenge, and at its core is the Tech Talent Coalition, a sector partnership of South Florida's most active and committed organizations representing academic institutions, government, employers, non-profits, economic development agencies, and training providers. In this role, I help create pathways to employment for South Florida residents by actively engaging employers to design technology job opportunities collaboratively with academic institutions and training providers.
Prior to this role, I served as Program Manager for the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses Program at Miami Dade College for nearly two years, where I supported entrepreneurs in accessing business education, support services, and pathways to capital, helping growth-oriented entrepreneurs gain practical skills to take their businesses to the next level with topics including financial statements, negotiations, and marketing.
Before joining Miami Dade College, I served as Program Coordinator for the Master of Science in Psychology with a major in Professional Counseling Psychology at Florida International University for over five years, where I supported the instruction and training of students preparing to become Licensed Mental Health Counselors in the state of Florida. I also served in various roles at Miami Dade College, including Program Assistant II, Clerk, and Student Assistant.
I hold a Master of Science in Higher Education Administration from Florida International University and a College Credit Certificate in AI Awareness from Miami Dade College.
Across my career in workforce development, higher education, and program management, my work has been driven by a commitment to creating pathways to opportunity, supporting entrepreneurs and students, and building partnerships that strengthen communities. Whether I am managing a workforce development initiative, supporting small business owners, or coordinating graduate programs, I bring a strategic mindset, strong organizational skills, and a dedication to making a positive impact on the people and communities I serve. I am proud of the work I have done throughout my career and excited to continue advancing workforce development and education in South Florida.
