Ten minutes with Yakira
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to the resilience, determination, and strength I witnessed growing up. I was raised by a single mother who worked incredibly hard and faced challenges with perseverance, showing me the importance of resilience, courage, and a strong work ethic. Watching her navigate obstacles and overcome barriers shaped my mindset and inspired me to approach challenges with confidence and determination. I am also grateful for the many women throughout my journey who have supported, mentored, and invested in me, helping to pave the way and empowering me to continue growing both personally and professionally.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering the industry is to never be afraid to ask questions and seek support. Asking for help is a sign of growth and curiosity, not a weakness. There are often valuable resources, mentors, and opportunities available, but you have to be willing to reach out and take advantage of them. Stay curious, continue learning, and build relationships with those who can help guide and support your professional journey.
