Q

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

I would tell young women entering my industry that your career journey is never defined by a single role. Every experience you have builds your skills, perspective, and resilience, giving you the foundation to pivot and grow throughout your career. Embrace opportunities to learn, stay open to new challenges, and be willing to apply the skills you’ve gained in different contexts.

Your path doesn’t need to follow a straight line—persevere under pressure, leverage your transferable experience, and continue learning. Show up authentically, trust your abilities, and remember that every step along the way contributes to your growth as a professional and as a person.

Q

What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges in my field right now is navigating the economic pressures, particularly those caused by inflation and government shutdowns. These factors have directly affected our customer base, which includes many military and contractor families here in Maryland. At the same time, these challenges present opportunities to innovate, strengthen relationships, and find creative ways to serve our community more effectively. Adapting to change and responding proactively allows us to not only overcome obstacles but also build long-term resilience.

Q

What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Integrity is the cornerstone of everything I do, both in my work and personal life. I believe in being honest, reliable, and consistent in my actions, making decisions that align with my values even when it’s challenging. Upholding integrity fosters trust, strengthens relationships, and ensures that the work I do has a positive and lasting impact.
