Her Interview

Ten minutes with Yamini

01What do you attribute your success to?

Not giving up, even though whatever it throws at me. If it needs a village, I do take help so that I can actually balance both work and my family. And that's been really helpful. When I say it's a village, not just at home, but also at work, depending on each other, helping each other, supporting, and that's been a success factor for me as well.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

Be very open to testing. Be okay to fail, but if you're failing, fail fast, learn, and move on, and do better.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

There will be a lot of noise around, a lot of things, a lot of noise about not treating you well, a lot of noise about you stepping up, and male domination. There will be 100 things that you can think about in a negative way. But you need to just make the world that you want it to be.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

Right now with the whole AI taking over, it can be a challenge, but it's also where the opportunity lies. You're trying to be ahead of the game, trying to be open, learning, and understanding how you can actually make the best use of AI so you can progress, so the business can progress. And how you can help out, how you can learn, I think that's where the opportunity also lies.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Empathy is really important, and understanding and being very grounded about what exactly will improve the business. Working on prioritization is very important for me. Also, team spirit, trying to be a team worker and understanding where everybody's at and getting everybody's input, making sure we are all working on the same ideas really helps me.
