Her Story

About Yana

Yana Averbukh is the CEO and founder of Green Retail Consulting and the founder of 3PL Boost, recognized as a RETHINK Retail Top Retail Expert 2026. Before founding her own ventures, she held executive leadership roles at CHANEL, Elie Tahari, Assouline, and Kellwood Company, overseeing retail operations, merchandising, and P&L management across luxury and global retail brands.

She founded Green Retail Consulting to help retail and e-commerce brands turn merchandising and operational data into decisions that scale profitably, partnering with brands including Old Navy, Eileen Fisher, and Orveon Global. She later founded 3PL Boost to bring that same data-driven approach to third-party logistics providers, helping warehouses and fulfillment companies build the marketing and positioning needed to win higher-value clients.

Yana holds a BA in Psychology from NYU and an MBA from Baruch College, and credits mentors including Professor Caslin for shaping her leadership style. She has scaled Green Retail Consulting over the past three years while holding to a personal priority: growth without sacrificing time with her family. Outside of work, she is a former ballroom dancer, a current Zumba and tennis regular, and is raising a 8-year-old.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Yana

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to a combination of extensive corporate experience, the ability to build and empower the right team at the right time, and staying at the forefront of technological advancements. These factors have enabled me to drive results while fostering innovation and collaboration.

02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering this industry is to believe in the opportunities available to you. The path may be challenging, but it is absolutely achievable. Take the time to master your craft, because there is plenty of room at the table for those who are prepared, confident, and committed to making an impact.

03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

The biggest challenge in my field is that technology is evolving faster than most organizations can absorb it, demanding constant adaptation from my team and my clients alike. The second is expectation-setting: helping clients trust the process during the lead time before results materialize. Both are also the biggest opportunities. The consultants who adapt fastest and communicate most clearly earn the deepest client trust.

04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values that guide me in both my work and personal life are authenticity and leading with care. I strive to be genuine in all that I do, and I make it a priority for my team to feel supported and valued. Building trust and showing that I truly care about the people I work with is central to how I lead and collaborate.
