Her Story
About Yasmine
I graduated from University of South Florida with my political science degree back in 2017 and moved to Washington, D.C. in hopes of becoming an attorney. I worked for two of the biggest prominent real estate law firms in DC and realized that maybe it's just not the career path for me. In the process of understanding where my next passion would be, I came across a job opportunity for a computer forensics company and started off there as a project analyst in March of 2019. My job consisted of taking information like images and videos and extracting them into insights so attorneys could present them in court. Because I had the background working with attorneys, the computer forensics company gave me an opportunity, and that's where I learned about data. From there on, I self-taught myself and learned how to become an analyst, learned how to code, and went to university. This now spans over 7 years of being in the data industry. I started ClearSet AI in July 2023 with just a curiosity of wanting to help business owners, professionals, and students. The business evolved into doing custom software projects and bigger AI presentations to help the community, making sure they're aware of what AI is, how to use it correctly, ethical AI, and making sure they have a better knowledge and a good resource to go to when they think of AI.

Ten minutes with Yasmine
01What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I would say to her that she should be confident in herself, and what I mean by confident in herself is I mean that she understands that when someone tells you no, that doesn't mean you're a failure. That just means this person is not for you, but somebody else is going to come in and validate not only your vision, your mission, but also validate who you are as a person, that you can make it. I also would tell her, find one good friend - a friend that you can lean on, that you can share your thoughts with, your trust with, because having a friend is so important. You get to really experience that healing, you get to experience being able to let go of certain thoughts or maybe overthinking that's going throughout your mind. And then I'll just let her know that it's okay that a setback doesn't mean you have to sit back. We all go through challenges, we all go through setbacks, but that doesn't mean you have to let that not only define you, but also stop the purpose that you know is inside of you. So, I would tell her to have the confidence, seek a trusted friend, and then also to not let those challenges define you.
