Q

What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to perseverance—I don’t take no for an answer. My children, especially my daughter, inspire me to be a constant example of strength, dedication, and achievement, particularly as a woman breaking cultural norms. As a young single mother, resilience became my foundation; I’ve always been determined to move forward, pursue higher education, and build a meaningful career that reflects the values I hope to instill in my family.

Q

What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I’ve ever received is, “Don’t wait for others to believe in you—believe in yourself first.” I’ve learned that self-belief is the foundation of growth and success. It’s essential to push past self-doubt and remember that perfection is not a prerequisite for progress; taking action and learning along the way are what truly move you forward.

Q

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering this industry is to believe in your voice and never let anyone convince you that this field isn’t for you. You have the power to be the first, to pave your own path, and to inspire others along the way. Build your network, ask questions, and show up—even when you feel uncertain. Visibility and authenticity matter, especially for women of color and first-generation professionals in clinical fields. Your presence and perspective are your greatest strengths.

Q

What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The most important values to me in both my work and personal life are integrity, compassion, and accountability. I strive to lead with honesty and empathy in everything I do, taking responsibility for my actions and their impact. I also embrace a growth mindset, continually seeking opportunities to learn and evolve. Community leadership and representation are deeply meaningful to me—I believe in using my voice and platform to create positive change. Above all, I’m passionate about educational empowerment for women, helping open doors for others to achieve their fullest potential.
